5 Upcoming Android Phones That Are Worth Waiting For
2016 has been a great year which saw the launch of some wildly successful phones including iPhone7. People now have their eyes on what’s new in 2017.
If you’re planning to upgrade your phone or buy a new one, we’ve got something for you. Before you make a purchase, we would like you to know what’s coming your way. Below we have listed 5 upcoming Android phones you might want to buy this New Year.
OnePlus reserved for itself a very strong position in 2016. Two of its very powerful phones OnePlus 3 and 3T are available at very competitive prices and are the best option in the “budget flagship” category. With this, people are looking forward to OnePlus4 now.
If OnePlus holds to its pattern, its upcoming smartphone should be out in June or July. The new phone is believed to come up with Snapdragon 835, 6-8GB of RAM and 64-128GB of internal storage. The price of OnePlus4 is expected to be somewhat closer to $400.
Samsung Galaxy S8
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 came up as a stunning blunder in 2016. While this phone was released with positive reviews, a battery defect led to its rejection. Now, Samsung is trying to regain its customer trust by launching Galaxy S8. The smartphone is expected to launch in the first half of 2017.
The Galaxy S8 is presumed to use the Super AMOLED displays. Seeing the popularity of the “Edge” variants, Samsung might stick with the design for Galaxy S8. Further, it is most likely to come up with a USB Type-C port and a next-generation Snapdragon 835 ARM chip. The iris scanner from the Note7 is also expected to make a comeback through Galaxy S8.
Nobody could deny that LG G5 was a huge flop. Now, the company is working on saving its flagship line in the New Year. It is rumored that LG G6 has undergone a complete redesign after the failure of the G5. It is expected that there would be no modular “friends” featured in G6 that provided very little customization.
The G6 will probably have a Snapdragon 835 processor and 4GB of RAM. The company will stick to the removable battery as well as the wide-angle camera. It is also believed that the company is working on at improving the build quality of the phone. LG will add features like aluminum frame, water-proofing, and OLED display, offering the G6 support for Google’s Daydream VR.
Nokia is all set to return in the market with its new series of Android smartphones. The first ones are rumored to be released in early 2017.
Nokia is rumored to come up with its new smartphone called the Nokia D1C. This will come in two variants – a smaller 5-inch model and the larger 5.5-inch model. The smaller variant will have 2GB of RAM, a 1080p screen, a 13MP camera, and a Snapdragon 430 ARM chip, while the larger model would offer specifications like 3GB RAM, and a 16MP camera. These smartphones are mid-range phones. Therefore customers would be able to grab one for a few hundred dollars in early 2017.
While HTC 10 ruled the hearts of consumers, it didn’t sell well. To overcome the loss, HTC is prepping a new smartphone named “Ocean.” While not much have been revealed yet, a demo video of the Ocean showing its “Sense Touch” interface has unveiled a few things. Ocean has no physical controls and relies upon gestures, touch, and voice. The edge has touch-sensitive areas, which can be used to zoom-in/out the camera, change the volume, etc.
While the specs of Ocean are still unknown, it will probably come up with 2017 flagships like 4GB of RAM, Snapdragon 835, and so on.
All these android smartphones are expected to be released in the first half of 2017 and be available at affordable range. With the arrival of such fabulous devices, it becomes imperative for android app development companies to develop extraordinary apps that increase the worth of these phones. We wish best of luck to these phones and their respective manufacturers in 2017.
